Everyone remembers Chris Rock hosting the Oscars back in 2005 and he'll be hosting this year's Oscars. Everyone is either excited or wary of the fact that he might be taking on the biggest controversy in the award show's history.

Rumors are sprouting that the comedian is reworking his monologue to address the #OscarsSoWhite controversy that even got actress Jada Pinkett-Smith fired up.

This year's Academy Awards may be a month away but it's already heating up the stage. Both celebrities and fans are wondering what the chosen host, Chris Rock, will joke about.

The Oscars have been known to bring in hosts that would make the night entertaining with their jokes and segues but since the list of nominees came out that showed all caucasian nominees - calling it the lack of diversity in the acting nominations, everyone has their eyes and ears ready for Rock's comments.

The hashtag #OscarsSoWhite is trending in the social media world which naturally makes sense for Chris Rock to rewrite his already prepared material monologues and work the controversy in the show.

Chris Rock was described to have worked so hard in his 2005 hosting of the Awards show though Rock's party has not commented on the matter.

However, the industry has cited that Rock's rewriting his material serves two purposes, one of which is to poke fun at the controversy and address it, while the second is to repair the damage it has caused.

The controversy shook the film industry and multiple actors and other notable names have lost confidence in the firm institution, namely the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences.

Everyone in the industry, including fans, will just have to wait and see when the 88th Annual Academy Awards will air live on Sunday, February 28 at 7:00 PM EST on ABC, reports indicated.
