Computer Available for Only $15, Raises Over $1.5 Million on Kickstarter

It is amazing how a 15-dollar computer could raise more than $15 Million.
Yes, the PINE A64, a 64-bit computer, that is available on Kickstarter has raised a huge amount of money.
This single-board device does not actually look like the computers we find at home or at work; however, it can do so much.
An article published in Mental Floss via MSN states that when the computer gets in the hands of an individual who has a little tech know-how, the potential applications are already enormous. Imagine what it can do in the hands of some tech geek?
PINE A64's co-founder Johnson Jeng told TechCrunch that he can see the board catching attention from consumers both here and abroad. "For all the computing power it packs, the A64 runs on surprisingly little energy. It performs at a mere 2.5 to 3.5 watts compared to typical desktops that operate somewhere between 75 to 300 watts, making it a smart option for regions with limited resources."
This computer board's CPU runs at 1.2GHz, and its GPU runs at 500MHz. Those numbers, according to reviews, are equal to generate enough power to put the computer's graphic capabilities slightly above those of the original XBOX console. "The PINE A64 comes equipped with an ethernet port, two USB ports, and a 4K HDMI output, making it completely expandable and customizable. (Though the device's 512MB to 2 GB of memory isn't upgradable.)"
However, this is not where the good news with this board ends. Did you know that in addition to using it to build your own custom PC, this little but powerful board can also power a 3D printer, laser engraver, or tablet? Amazing, isn't it?
Now, if you believe that it is close to impossible to find a brand-new, cheap compute, then think again.
Consider the PINE A64: the 64-bit computer that is worth $15 at Kickstarter.
The Kickstarter campaign ended over the weekend, surpassing its original goal of $31,416 more than 50 times over.
