The world welcomed a precious bundle of joy - a baby boy named York. Parents Erik Asla and Tyra Banks couldn't be any happier after having the miracle baby through a surrogate.
After sharing to the world that Banks had trouble having children, she and Asla planned the pregnancy through surrogacy.
Banks thanked the woman, who remains unnamed, for carrying the baby that the couple calls a "miracle". Last September, Banks had an emotional moment with Chrissy Teigen on television during her show FABLife. She announced that being asked constantly why she doesn't have children yet has emotionally stressed her. "Why don't you have kids, why don't you have kids?" 'You don't know, you don't know what I'm going through. You have no idea", Banks said, opening up to Teigen.
She further explained that she always thought she was capable of having children, putting it off because of her career and then later was shocked to learn that she is unable to have children.
Banks has been dating Asla for two years. Her struggle to concieve a baby is now overshadowed by their baby son York. She told People that she and Asla are so excited for the baby and continues to pray for people who are struggling with fertility and conception. "The journey to now has not been an easy process, as I've shared before. But there was a beautiful bright light at the end of the tunnel for me and his father, Erik", Banks said in the short interview.
With the new addition to the family, Tyra Banks has received tons of congratulations from her fans and other well wishers like Miley Cyrus. Cyrus sent out a bunch of silver balloons that spells out the name York.
Banks posted a picture of Cyrus' gift on Instagram and captioned it:
"Your Congratulations Balloons are HUGE and on our stairway, @mileycyrus"
