Taylor Swift and The Weeknd Lead The 2016 iHeartRadio Music Award Nominees

Radio and streaming conglomerate iHeartRadio announced the nominees for its awards show with Taylor Swift and The Weeknd leading the pack with seven nominations each, as reported by Forbes.
Next to Swift and The Weeknd are Adele and Diplo, who have five chances to win. Adding a number of categories that weren't a part of the awards before like Alternative Rock Artist of the Year, R&B Song of the Year, and a whole lot more, iHeartRadio has bulked up on trophies to be given out throughout the night. Having announced an astounding amount of 80 million active users on their service, iHeartRadio's streaming platform has become one of the most popular ones in the world.
Taylor Swift's 'Blank Space', The Weeknd's 'Can't Feel My Face' and Adele's 'Hello' are a few of the nominees for the Song of the Year. Mark Ronson and Walk the Moon are also nominated. Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, Sam Smith, and the Weeknd are all nominated for Male Artist of the Year. Bagging a total of three nominations, Sam Hunt is up for Best New Artist Award against Hozier, Shawn Mendes, Tove Lo and Fetty Wap.
Founded in April 2008 as the website iheartmusic.com, iHeartRadio is a platform owned by iHeartMedia Inc. As of 2015, iHeartRadio have upgraded its functions as a music recommender system and radio network. The company aggregates audio content from over 800 iHeartRadio stations across the United States to different parts of its scope.
During the start of 2016, it was announced that the iHeartRadio service would expand into Canada as a part of Bell Media, which is also the country's largest radio station operator. iHeartRadio is currently available in the US, Australia and New Zealand through platforms like home entertainment, auto, mobile and web. Back in 2010, iHeartRadio was ranked #4 on AdAge's Entertainment A-List.
