49ers Suspend RB Jacobs For The Rest Of Regular Season

The San Francisco 49ers have decided to suspend running back Brandon Jacobs after the eight-year veteran began posting several posts on social networking sites about how unhappy he was with his lack in playing time. One of his posts, he stated that he (Jacobs) was “rotting away” in the team. The two-time Superbowl champion has only had five carries for a total of seven yards and he has only played in two games for the 49ers who currently lead the NFC West division with a 9-3-1 record.
The announcement on Jacobs’ suspension was made about two hours after Jim Harbraugh’s press conference. It is also highly doubtful that the 30 year old running back will be brought back for the playoffs. After spending the first seven seasons of his career with the New York Giants, Jacobs signed with the 49ers for the 2012 season even though he knew that he was going to have to play behind a squad featuring Frank Gore, who has been one of the star players of the franchise.
With the suspension, the era of Brandon Jacobs taking to social media sites in order to voice his displeasure is finally over for the fans of San Francisco.
