It is important for employees and employers to understand that everyone needs to stay positive when it comes to stress which means everyone needs to be resilient when it comes to their healths and careers.
When your managers mentor or coach you on how to remain positive in times of stress then that means employees should be ready to adjust to change and move on from negativity quickly.
Especially in the current times, it is imperative that everyone maintains their health to move forward and grow in their careers.
Studies have found that people that are most resilient tend to be the most productive workers. Which is most likely why employers are now offering diverse benefits to help employees become more resilient to stress.
How can someone become resilient? Employees cannot do it alone, they have to be coached and trained which is why most companies offer programs and seminars that teach skills and method for work productivity. These trainings make the employees remain focused and productive. These kinds of seminars and group trainings are already being enforced in schools, the military and multi-national companies.
Royal Dutch Shell calls it "Positive Psychology". The study led by Univesity of Nebraska researchers have found that resilience training is crucial when it comes to the employee's mental health and over-all well-being. This method focuses on increasing positive emotions and putting the negative emotions in its place. The worker then learns to thrive in the enviroment. This program started five years ago and has been conducted to employees in over 50 countries. The company boasts of its success showing positive effects of the training that persists up to 4 years when it comes to social functioning and performance.
While employees desire to grow and develop in their careers, stress management is crucial in today's world. Talk to your manager or supervisor if this kind of training is offered in your area.
