Woman Shot Over A Cigarette

A woman was shot and killed by three wanted teenagers when she told them to “get a job” after the teens had asked her for a cigarette. The victim was identified as Kayla Peterson, a 22 year old mother from western Pennsylvania. Peterson died due to her injuries at a hospital in Pittsburgh two hours after the incident. The gunman, who was identified by Peterson’s boyfriend, is currently in police custody while his two companions remain at large.
The two remaining suspects, who are both 14 years of age, have been given adult criminal charges with conspiracy to commit murder. Even though they were not the ones who pulled the trigger on Petersen, the two youths will still be charged in accordance with Pennsylvania law since they were still part of the incident that got the woman killed.
The victim’s boyfriend, William Bailey, says that he is having a hard time dealing with the death of Peterson and an even harder time trying to explain the whole tragedy to their young daughter, Elliona who is going to turn two this coming January. Bailey described Peterson as being the rock of their family and that he is currently at a loss as to what he is going to do following the tragedy.
