A failed engine from a flight coming out of Cleveland Hopkins International Airport forced the pilot to swiftly turn the aircraft around, making an emergency landing just minutes before it took off on Friday. The flight 1295 was due to arrive in Dallas and was transporting 139 people, passengers and crew altogether.

According to the airport's spokesperson, several ground crew have reportedly seen some sort of engine trouble while it was taking off. What they have exactly seen was not made available as authorities are still conducting investigations.

Luckily, no injuries were reported and the passengers, together with their luggage, were all transferred to another plane, allowing them to depart on a delayed flight.

The incident occurred on one of American Airlines' MD-80 planes. Various media outlets have even suggested that this incident has become alarmingly common in the airline's most recent years – April 2012, Kona, HI to Los Angeles, CA, where the cabin crew were forced to complete shut the off the engine before landing; April 2011, Phoenix to Dallas, engines lost power just six minutes after take off.

American Airlines have yet to respond on the incident and to its frequent recurrences. The company is located in Fort Worth, Texas and its parent company is none other than AMR Corp.
