Google Maps Gets More Detour Friendly For iOS

Google declared last week, an additional feature to Google Maps that has been long requested, where users are allowed to add a detour along their route without exiting navigation mode. That way a user can track their way to places such as gas station, restaurant, grocery stores and more.
The launch of the feature was available first on Android devices, where it's now available to all iOS devices according to Google's Blogpost.
Google Maps is available in any country that offers navigation and to more than 100 countries around the world. This feature is similar to users with Google owned navigation app such as Waze before it was implemented to Google Map.
Surprisingly it took a while for Google to apply such simple feature to its navigation map, where it's common for a user to hit up a pit stop while heading to a destination. Before a user would have to track their route to a pit stop, then proceed to a new way from the pit stop to their intended location. As two navigation stretch is being created, users might experience difficulty knowing which gas station, restaurant or any pit stop would show up unless an amount of movement is taken place.
With the new "add a stop" option, when a user's device is on navigation mode, a magnifying glass located on the top right of the screen, by simply pressing it would present different choices of places to choose from to make a stop, and would also allow the user to enter a search for places based on their choosing.
In case of safety hazard, the feature can be activated through voice command instead of typing by pressing the microphone button, which allows the user to make a quick option while driving.
When a user's navigation view is being mapped out on Google Maps, they will be able to check the rating on each destination, and approximate time when taking a detour to provide a best selection to make
