After almost a year of never-ending speculations on what will happen next in "Game of Thrones" season 6, some the cast have been gushing about what to expect on the new season of the hit HBO series. And as the much-awaited premiere looms, here are 3 reasons why the upcoming season is worth the wait.

1. Kit Harington is back but Jon Snow is dead.

Many fans were left baffled when the season 5 finale showed the possible demise of Jon Snow, the character played by Kit Harington. But Harington recently teased that there is far more to come for Snow, Metro noted.

While Harington confirmed his "Game of Thrones" Season 6 comeback, International Business Times revealed that the 29-year-old English actor warned fans that Jon Snow is really dead. As a matter of fact, he admitted that he had shot scenes of his character as a corpse.

"I filmed some scenes of me being dead - it's some of my best work," Harington told Time Out before adding, "I know how long I'm a corpse for, but I can't tell you that!"

2. An ex-warrior's resurrection

One of the latest "Game of Thrones" season 6 spoiler reports revealed that an ex-warrior will be resurrected from the dead. According to Cinema Blend, newly added cast member Ian McShane will play the role of an ex-warrior who has become a peacenik.

Rumors have it that McShane's character could resurrect the infamous character, Hound, from the dead, as per Movie News Guide. With that said, will there be a couple resurrections in the upcoming season?

3. New scenes and storylines

Aside from Harington, Lena Headey, the actress who plays the role of Cersei Lannister, has also been dropping hints about the highly-anticipated "Game of Thrones" season 6. She actually vowed that fans will love the new scenes and storylines of the series, Unreality TV reported.

In addition, Headey also revealed that she is set to take a bigger role in the upcoming season. And over the weekend, the 42-year-old actress told her Twitter followers that the upcoming season will be worth the wait.

"Here's the thing you guys... I just saw some of S6... And... OMFG... It's beyond worth the agonizing wait... TRUST," she tweeted.
