Uh-oh! Reality TV star Austin "Chumlee" Russell of History Channel's "Pawn Stars" was recently arrested in Las Vegas following a police raid at his residence in Henderson, Nevada. He is currently facing 19 gun and drug charges.
According to jail records, 33-year-old Austin Russell was arrested for drug and gun possession on Wednesday afternoon following a sexual assault raid. People has learned that he's currently detained at the Clark County Detention on $62,000 bail.
Russel's arrest came amid the sexual assault investigation. Unfortunately, he's in much deeper legal trouble after the authorities found marijuana, methamphetamines and a gun at his home during the raid, New York Daily News noted.
Austin "Chumlee" Russell of "Pawn Stars," however, wasn't charged on sexual assault allegation. As per Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson Larry Hadfield, the raid was part of the investigation in connection to a recent complaint by a woman.
Meanwhile, it wasn't clear if Russell had a lawyer since A&E Network and the History Channel have refused to give any comments, Nola reported. Russell's "Pawn Stars" costar and Gold and Silver Pawn Shop owner Rick Harrison, on the other hand, said that the whole cast of their reality show were still gathering up details surrounding Chumlee's arrest.
"We don't have details yet but we are here to help Chumlee any way we can," Harrison said through an email, as per Fox News.
As of Wednesday night, Austin Russell was still registered as an inmate facing charges of "possession of a gun by a prohibited person" and 19 drug-related charges. According to Huffington Post, the reality TV star is set to appear in court on Friday.
Austin "Chumlee" Russell became a household name because of the hit History Channel show, "Pawn Stars." The show, which depicts the daily business at the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas, is currently on its 12th season.
For five years, Russell had been working at the store doing behind-the-counter wor. But when the show premiered in 2009, he quickly rose to instant stardom by becoming a fan favorite due to his comic antics.
