Two months ago, 24-year-old groom Hector Martinez of Covina shut down a freeway with up to 250 motorcycles so that he could propose to his girlfriend, identified as “Paige” in the video. It worked. But now Martinez is facing the consequences along with three of his friends who helped pull off the stunt.

Police were able to track down Martinez through social media. It was not difficult, because the men had posted a video of the incident, and were less than discrete about their exploits.

California Highway Patrol officer Kurt Stormes said simply, “They bragged about it a lot.”

The men face misdemeanor public nuisance charges, along with unlawful assembly. Martinez is also being investigated for exhibition of speed.

In the video, edited by “Mike Sincere,” a group of motorcycles can be seen coming down the highway en masse, headlights on. Techno music plays in the background. Soon hundreds of bikers can be seen swarming the lanes, and one even pops a wheelie. One of the motorcycles stops and releases a pink cloud of smoke. The biker then kneels down to pop the question to his sweetheart. It's obvious from the rejoicing around him, and the happy look on her face, what her answer was.

The bikers then drive off, some pumping their fists triumphantly while cars zoom by apparently happy that they can get back to their commute.

Admittedly, the video is quite touching, and it subsequently went viral on the internet. It currently has over 320,000 views on YouTube. See for yourself:
