Zombie walkers from hit AMC drama "Walking Dead" are no longer just seasonal Halloween attractions at Universal Studios in Hollywood, announced "Talking Dead", the chat show that follows "Walking Dead."
The shuffling flesh-eaters will now be a permanent theme park attraction at the theme park at the Southern California theme park this summer, according to USA Today.
Universal Studios has reportedly claimed that the new permanent addition will add to previous efforts as the zombies will now have their own structure. There will be authentic walker makeup effects, sophisticated animatronic walkers and much more detail in the realms of set design and costuming.
The dead will be recognizable from the TV series they are from.
Executive producer Greg Nicotero and his team of special-effects makeup artists will work on giving the walkers a very real (or unreal) appearance.
The TV drama "Walking Dead" surrounds the story of a hard core group of survivors from the zombie apocalypse who try to live through a difficult time.
The attraction is not for children under the age of 13.
Nicotero has not given out specific information about the attraction but says that fans of the drama will be pleased to see vignettes and characters from the six seasons of the show. The attraction will be a combination of live performers and animatronics and will focus on the zombies (the dead) rather than the living members of the show.
The show airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT
The theme park already has attractions that mirror the franchises of "The Fast and The Furious," "The Simpsons" and "Harry Potter ." It is an important event for "Walking Dead" to have an attraction as permanent as one that is 365 days a year.
Fans will also get some great opportunities to revisit things they might have seen in Season 1 and also some things from Seasons 3 and 4.
