Uh-oh! Kate Middleton is facing the public's wrath after she broke another royal tradition to spend more time with her two children, two-year-old Prince George and 10-month-old Princess Charlotte. While prioritizing her kids seemed commendable, some of the Duchess' royal subjects have become furious.

After facing criticisms over her lavish royal lifestyle, 34-year-old Kate Middleton is once again in a middle of a public backlash after she abandoned a 115-year-old St. Patrick's tradition to be with her children. According to Daily Mail, the public took to social media to slam the Duchess of Cambridge's decision.

"I feel disappointed - if the Royals start breaking with good traditions then I'm not sure what they're there for," one user commented.

The annual St. Patrick's Day tradition, which is presenting shamrocks to the Irish Guards (Hounslow-based Infantry Batallion), has been carried out by the female members of the royal family since 1901. The tradition was started by Queen Alexandra while Duchess Kate took over the role from Princess Anne in 2012.

Unfortunately, Kate Middleton abandoned her role this year to spend more quality time with her two kids before she and husband Prince William will embark on a trip to India and Bhutan in April. While the Kensington Palace explained the Duchess' absence, many still criticized her decisions on social media.

"The Duchess has very much enjoyed the occasions when she has been able to attend, but the Duke is the Colonel of the Regiment and is looking forward to presenting the Irish Guards with their Shamrock," the Kensington Palace's statement read, as per Daily Mirror. "The Duchess looks forward to marking St Patrick's Day with the Irish Guards many times in the future."

Meanwhile, the public criticism came after royal couple was accused for their lack of commitment in carrying out their royal duties, not to mention their lavish royal lifestyle and their family's secret skiing holiday in the French Alps earlier this month.

In other news, Prince William had refused to address the accusations of him being lazy during an interview with Mark Austin on Tuesday. Celeb Dirty Laundry noted that the Duke of Cambridge opted to talk about the illegal wildlife trade crisis rather than the criticisms towards him and his wife.
