The 2013 Kids' Choice Awards left plenty of people feeling slimed, as stars showed up en masse for the Nickelodeon event at USC Galen Center. Selena Gomez won Favorite TV Actress despite the conclusion of Wizards of Waverly Place, and Katy Perry took home a blimp for Favorite Female Singer.
Kristen Stewart was also a big winner, winning for both Favorite Movie Actress and Favorite Female Buttkicker (for Snow White and the Huntsman).
Few of the stars seemed to mind being green for the night, since sliming means that the kids really like you. Showing up at the event is important for building cachet with the younger crowd, especially for those who have a young fan base.
Voting is done online, and this year drew a record 350 million votes. Nickelodeon should be proud to be able to stir up this much participation.
Katy Perry and Selena Gomez both won big for their fashion, with Katy Perry wearing a PG-rated midriff baring blue-and-yellow outfit and Selena Gomez wearing shorts and baby blue top by designer Oscar de la Renta. Kristen Stewart looked great in a matching deep blue top and shorts by Osman Yousefzada.
This is the 26th year of the Kids' Choice Awards, and its star power and popularity with kids continues to grow strong.
