’The Bachelorette’ 2016 Picks Jojo Fletcher For Season 12 Leading Lady
By Staff Reporter | Mar 22, 2016 12:17 AM EDT
It looks like second placer Jojo Fletcher gets to choose her own destiny, after losing the man of her dreams in this year's "The Bachelor."
JNH previously reported that "The Bachelor" Ben Higgins picked Lauren Bushnell to become his future wife. Jojo Fletcher may have come second place to Higgins' heart but she will be the one to dish out roses the next time around in this season's "The Bachelorette" 2016.
The announcement that Jojo Fletcher was to become the next "Bachelorette" was made official in the "After the FInal Rose" episode, according to Variety. Jojo Fletcher had a major heartbreak when she was told by Ben Higgins that he loved her but chose another woman over her in the "Final Rose" episode. The 25 year old real estate developer from Dallas walked away without a ring on her finger. However, she seemed elated that she was picked to be "The Bachelorette" 2016.
In the same Variety article, it was rumored that ABC was pressured into choosing a multi-cultural candidate because the show lacked diversity. Although both "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette" has had numerous diverse contestants, the leading man and woman were always white.
Earlier this year, former ABC president Paul Lee said that "The Bachelorette" will feature a diverse lead. ABC and the production team have already been making arrangements for the show. Jojo Fletcher seems to be the right woman for the job as she comes from a Persian descent.
"The Bachelorette" will feature Jojo Fletcher this coming Season 12. The show is scheduled to premiere on May 23. Who will be the lucky man this time?
