Watch Ross Lynch Tryout for Disney Before He Became a Kids' Choice Winner, R5 Band Member

Ross Lynch won big at Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards, grabbing the Favorite TV Actor award. Before he was going on tour with his family in R5 (Loud Tour) and starring in a TV show, the scruffie-haired teen had to audition like the rest of us. We dug up his Disney tryout video from when he was 13 years old, and yes it seems like ages ago compared to now, especially when you hear his adorable voice in the video.
Looking just like a younger version of the current Ross, Lynch begins by introducing himself, and then launches into a spiel about Disney's A Christmas Carol starring Jim Carrey. He hypes up the movie for the camera, trying his best to get audiences interested in the subject, and perhaps to earn another shot at the camera. We all know how that turned out, as he is now a big star in Disney's Austin & Ally.
In the video, Lych also describes the upcoming (at the time) Jonas Brothers movie, and talks about the Jonas' screaming fans on their 3D Tour in "hot pursuit." Wearing a baby blue t-shirt, and what looks like two guitar pick dog tags, Lynch makes a good first impression for his audition.
These days, Ross is getting a taste of that Jonas fame himself, touring with his own family members (plus a friend). The R5 Loud Tour is making its rounds with Riker, Rydel, Rocky, Ross and "Ratliff." Hence the name. They have gained favorable comparisons to other famous five-member family bands. Think Jackson 5 or the Osmonds.
Before taking a trip out to a concert to see newest Favorite TV Actor in person, check out his video audition on YouTube before he made it big:
