Twitter is reportedly developing a new product called "Stickers." This is said to be a part of the social media site's plan to continue moving forward.

Re/code reported that the company is taking into consideration a "Stickers" feature. This would allow users to superimpose images to photos before tweeting them.

The upcoming Twitter feature will give users the ability to "see how other users from around the world have edited the same photo." It will also tailor suggestions of photos that can be edited and posted to participate in trending conversations as well as breaking news.

The publication learned about the alleged Twitter "Stickers" feature from a test conducted by the company to selected users. There are speculations that photos could be categorized based on the stickers that they are associated with.

"We're always researching potential new ways to make Twitter more expressive," a spokesperson said. The social media site is asking for feedback from users regarding its name and scope.

According to Reuters, other suggested names of the latest Twitter feature are "Stamptags," "Taptags" and "Stickits." Twitter is not the first social media site to encourage users to post more customized photos. Facebook has this feature and Snapchat gives users the ability to add emojis to photos as well as videos.

Venture Beat noted that Facebook, Line, Snapchat and Path have gained more engagement when they incorporated stickers to their platform. If this does push through, this would mark the latest push by Twitter to improve its photo offering.

The publication noted that the company has previously added filters. Apparently, Twitter's Stickers feature may serve to reconnect people with the service, something that it has been struggling with over the past few years.

Twitter recently celebrated its 10th anniversary on Sunday, Mar. 20. The website marked this milestone with the hashtag "#LoveTwitter" which is accompanied by a heart and Twitter logo emoji.
