Celebrities are known to have a following crowd. Some loyal fans study their career and life. While some study their facial ticks, clothes and make-up. These are called impersonators. Impersonators would dress up like their idol, talk like their idol, act, sing, dance and even walk like their celebrity idol.
While others, like this unsuspecting audience member, just looked like Adele.
Recently, Adele was performing in Birmingham and invited a fan on stage. Cosmopolitan reports that the lady in question was always mistaken for Adele. They call her a doppelganger and her boyfriend wouldn't stop telling everyone about it. "Everyone thinks my girlfriend is you! She's been asked 10 times now!" says Tom Winkler.
His girlfriend, Emily Bamforth, was pulled from the crowd on to the stage where she and the "Hello" crooner took a selfie. This wasn't the first time Adele hung out with a look-alike.
At one point, Adele decided to enter an "Adele Impersonator" contest to see how she would rank among the competition. These Adele impersonators told "Jenny" that they put on thick make up, go to gigs as Adele and even sing her singles at events. Some do not bother to put paddings on themselves to appear like Adele's size, these girls were banking on their vocal chords. Others choose to alter their faces with obvious concealers and eye liners. Most of them make a career out of it while the rest just enjoy looking like her. But one would agree that their greatest reward was to be standing beside the real Adele.
Not one of them realized that her cover "Jenny" was in fact the real her, while waiting back stage. They didn't realize it until she started belting out one of her singles. At which point, according to Cinemablend, the impersonators rejoiced.
This was Adele's way of saying thank you to her fans.
Do you look or sound like Adele? Would you consider moonlighting as an Adele Impersonator?
