This 19 year old basketball prodigy grew up to be 7 foot tall. His name is Thon Maker. He was born in Sudan and played high school basketball in Canada.

His athleticism and spunk now tells him that he's ready to make it in the big league. He can't wait to hit the court and be with the big guys like Lebron James.

What did this teenager have that everyone should follow? According to Entrepreneur, it's a battle between "too soon" versus "believe in yourself." For Maker, it doesn't matter because he feels that he's ready to drop the books and hit the professional ring. His legal guardian, Edward Smith, has opened to Bleacher Report that he has "...fulfilled the academic requirements to be eligible for the 2016 draft. He will apply for the 2016 NBA draft and await approval from the NBA."

The NBA rules require players to be 19 years old to be removed from high school. For this 19 year old, he does not believe that he will not make it. He is clearly inspired by the NBA professional players that he's willing to give it a shot. He still has to prove it to the NBA scouts that he's got the "skills."

"Thon has been the hardest-working and the most astute kid I've coached in my 23 years of coaching," Smith said. "I'm happy to have placed him in the position to have this choice."

Everything is almost falling into place for this prodigy, with Jeff Borzello - a basketball recruiting insider at ESPN - going on to Twitter saying that "The NBA will ultimately decide if Maker is going to be available for teams to draft in June, but he clearly has enough raw talent and upside to be considered among the top-tier players in this year's class."

It looks like Thon is willing to risk his education to make his dream come alive.
