PlayStation 4 Update Brings Remote Play Feature For PC And Mac

Sony introduces PlayStation 4's Remote Play functionality that will allow PS4 owners to play their favorite games on Windows and Mac.
According to PCMag, the PS4's System Software update version 3.50 will be available on Wednesday. Gamers will be able to stream PS4 games connected to a Windows or Mac PC reaching its resolution up to 720p HD, meaning players will get to experience desktops and laptops transform into a fully functional gaming console.
In order for this to work, players must install the PS4 Remote Play application after installing System Software 3.50 to set up a PlayStation 4 stream connected to a PC. It is also required to connect a DualShock 4 controller to the host PC through a USB cable.
PlayStation 4 Remote Play is capable to stream a frame rate default of 30fps up to a resolution of 540p. If a gamer manages to meet Sony's requirement of a bandwidth. In addition, Sony offers an optional resolution of 360p for gamers with limited access to the internet.
According to SlashGear, additional updates will roll out this week which includes an "appear offline" option that allows gamers to play their games without being pestered with game invites and the like.
Sony is also taking part of this week's PS4 firmware update by overhauling a number of platform-specific features starting with the System Software 3.50. Through the PlayStation 4's dashboard, gamers will be able to schedule events and gaming sessions with other players.
Looking at the Xbox One, the console has been known for offering PC streaming capabilities that requires a Windows 10, although it is not available for Mac platforms. The PS4 Remote Play feature on the other hand, works on Windows 8.1 and Windows 10, including Mac 10.10 and Mac 10.11.
