Burger King Employees Smashed Restaurant Windows After Being Pranked

Usually, it takes a riot to destroy the place people work in. Not for this Burger King staff. A caller who posed as a fireman called the Burger King outlet in Coon, Rapids, Minnesota and warned of a gas leakage.
According to the Metro, the staff could either be super safety-conscious or gullible - or both.
In an attempt to release the alleged gas leak in the restaurant, Burger King employees were seen smashing the windows of the restaurant one by one. A video has been uploaded on Twitter following the distressing situation. Passers-by saw the odd spectacle and filmed it with their phones. People were unsure what to make of this.
Police responded to the situation. Sergeant Rick Boone interviewed the store's manager. They were advised that they had to break the windows to release pressure. Sensing danger, the manager believed that the outlet was going to explode, as told by Star Tribune. According to police, employees received a phone call from someone claiming to be from the Coon Rapids Fire Department.
It was unclear who the alleged fireman official was but the staff was too concerned with their own safety that they complied with the fireman's advice.
However, Yahoo reports that this isn't the first time Burger King employees have been duped into a similar prank.
Though no one was seriously injured, one employee did receive a minor cut while breaking the windows.
Police have launched an investigation into who may have placed the call. The cost of the damage is still being calculated. Meanwhile, Thomas Larman of the Shawnee Fire Department told the station:"It is a little upsetting that they would try to give the fire department a black eye. We would never do anything like that. We're here to serve the public, protect the public."
