Adoration is a powerful motivator. Unfortunately for a couple in Pittsburgh, their adoration for each other was overtaken by their worship of stars on American Idol. Karen Elaine Harrelson and Gregory Stambaugh got into an argument on May 15 over which of the Idol finalists, Candice Glover or Kree Harrison, should win the season 12 finale.
Reports are unable to conclude at any facts as to the happenings of the fight, as both were drunk at the time of the incident and they both pointed their fingers at each other during their confessions at the police station. But one thing is sure, their drunken rage had resulted in both of them were sent to the hospital and treated for knife-stabbed wounds.
The officers who were responding to a call for a knife-related domestic dispute, came to find the 57-year-old man and the 48-year-old woman at the front of the house with blood everywhere. The girlfriend had cuts on her fingers and wrist, while the man was stabbed through his forearm.
The day-drinking couple had been set at $100,000 bail all together. A preliminary hearing will be held on July 8 on two counts of simple assault and one count of felony aggravated assault.
As Candice Glover won American Idol's Season 12, finalist Kree Hamilton offered her a peaceful hug of congratulations.
