Everyone celebrated the winning 60 point game that the Black Mamba put out at Madison Square Garden against the Knicks. He played 1,346 games in the regular season, and this was just his sixth with 60 points. According to New York Times, the last words he said to the crowd, hours later, were "Mamba out!"
To score his 60, Bryant made 22 of 50 shots, including six of 21 from three-point range and 10 of 12 from the foul line. No player in at least three decades had taken 50 shots in a game before Wednesday. There would be a celebration after the game. It was evident that Laker fans are celebrating the athlete's career and the purple and yellow balloons are just the start of it all. But before his fateful exit, he recalls one time that the coolest thing was "...that my kids actually saw me play like I used to play," Bryant says.
What are his plans once the game was over? How will this all-star basketball retired pro celebrate his retirement?
People went to social media to poke fun at the scenario. "I'm told there were plans for a post-game party for Kobe and team to celebrate his career. But won't happen. Kobe waking up early for work," Tweets Medina. Paul Biancardi found out that he's working on the first day of his down-time. Biancardi quotes Bryant saying, "I gotta go workout tomorrow. I gotta go find a new routine. It gives you a sense of purpose and it gives you a plan."
Fans have been asking if this was for real. According to Lakers spokesman John Black, Bryant worked out in the early morning and went straight to his office at 8:30am.
Even though he's out of the court, the man doesn't stop working. Does Bryant inspire you to do more with your life? Tell us how.
