A Maryland train was derailed in Baltimore County on Tuesday afternoon at approximately 2pm.
A Facebook user named "Uptown Bev" uploaded a video of the event. The video shows an explosion that sent up a pillar of fire to the sky.
The loud explosion was confirmed to be caused by the train derailment. The explosion had charred several buildings, causing many structures to collapse. The shock of the explosion and the crash could be felt at least half a mile away.
"The whole building shook and there was just dust everywhere," said Tawan Rai, a worker at a nearby Dunkin Donuts. "I went outside and people were rushing there, the police officers, fire trucks."
The train reportedly crashed into a tractor trailer and was then derailed.
This incident is the third serious derailment this month. Two other incidents happened, one in Bridgeport, Connecticut, while another in Rockview, Missouri.
Hazmat teams arrived to inspect the black smoke that has been ascending the crash site, but no injuries were reported.
