After 24 hours of crowning Denise Garrido Miss Universe Canada, the beauty queen was stripped of her crown when the organizers Beauties of Canada realized a grave mistake.

A "human error" was found to have occurred in the vote count ups, a typo was found and the original winner Riza Santos was not crowned winner. Denise Garrido was actually in 4th place.

When the error had occurred, Denise was called into an unexpected meeting on Sunday.

"My heart was starting to sink and when the error was announced, I was in a daze," She couldn't stop her voice from trembling as she told Breakfast Television on Tuesday, "It was absolutely surreal. This fairy-tale-slash-nightmare happened within 24 hours."

The still beautiful Garrido is trying to be positive in the difficult situation, "I've grown a lot from this experience. It was a challenge at the time and was shocking to me... but it could be a great story for women everywhere."

The Beauties of Canada counsel issued a statement saying, "Miss Garrido's example and grace represents all we look for at Miss Universe Canada. We have no doubt she will continue to succeed in her endeavors and we wish her well. We truly hope she remains a strong part of the Miss Universe Canada Organization."
