Banks are getting bigger and the finance world is getting more and more competitive. As financial firms and investment banks are getting ready to expand, Vault has come up with a list of career resource for fresh graduates and financial professionals looking to join the banking industry.
A survey was conducted to 3,600 banking professionals that looked into employer rating, work-life balance, compensation, hours, firm and business culture, business outlook and overall satisfaction.
Here are the top 10 banks in America that you can consider working for:
1. Blackstone
This company founded by Stephen A. Schwarzman and Peter G. Peterson in 1985 was rated highly for its work culture but the survey also indicated high pressure situations and lack of resources.
This bank with its array of investment categories and securities is rated as one of the top prestigious banking firms in America. The bank holds multiple opportunities for growth. However, the survey noted some respondents saying they are overworked.
This bank was rated as the best banking firm for tech professionals. The bank has a great working culture and team on hand but cited long hours as a downer.
4. Evercore
This investment bank is praised for its intellectually challenging work culture but one employee noted that the firm is small and lacks staffing coverage when employees go on leave.
This CP was rated as number 1 in Firm Leadership and the survey indicated satisfaction from high compensation. One downer noted was the work environment was stressful.
HL was rated number 1 in both Diversity and Ability to Challenge. Employees noted that the senior management is great to work with and learn from but most of the time, there's more devotion to marketing.
This bank calls itself a "unique investment banking firm" and employees noted it's a great collegial environment. However, some noted there is lack of clarity regarding internal advancement opportunities and growth.
8. J.P. Morgan
Forbes wrote that this bank holds the top spot with $2.39 trillion in assets. The employees like the competitive compensation but cited work-life balance as a downer.
This bank founded by by Joseph Perella, Peter Weinberg and Terry Meguid in 2006 was named as a great platform for training and mentoring but employees noted long hours.
10. Lastly, Credit Suisse
This bank is known for its prestige but employees noted that the salary is a downer.
