Why Kate Middleton Became A Huffington Post Journalist

Early this year, Kate Middleton, the duchess of Cambridge, and wife of the future King of England, has transformed Kensington Palace into a newsroom, even just for one day. She did it when she took over the role as guest editor for the Huffington Post U.K.
Why did she do it? She was raising the awareness of the world to the plight of children who are plagued with mental illness.
In the process, she invited a team from the UK periodical to the palace in the middle of February and started to work with them to focus on the initiatives of the many parents, teachers and professionals working in the British sector of mental health.
"The Duchess of Cambridge has made the mental health of young children a key focus of her work in recent years. She is delighted that The Huffington Post will help put a spotlight on this important issue," a spokesperson for the Kensington Palace said in an official statement at that time.
"[She] will be commissioning contributions from a number of leading figures in the mental health sector as well as from young people, parents, and teachers," the statement added.
As a guest editor, the future Queen of England spent her editing day working on the UK online version of the Huffington Post website. She commissioned several pieces and got them published as well.
In connection with her work, she also wrote a blog, as part of her being a guest editor.
"The mental health of our children must be seen as every bit as important as their physical health," she wrote.
"For too long we have been embarrassed to admit when our children need emotional or psychiatric help, worried that the stigma associated with these problems would be detrimental to their futures," she added in her blog.
