The New England Patriots signed Tim Tebow for a two-year deal on Tuesday after many months of speculations about the future of Tebow's football career.

The Patriots coach Bill Belichick announced Tuesday in a press conference that Tebow will be joining the team not as a quarterback, but to "learn under" Tom Brady.

"First and foremost, I just want to thank the Patriots for giving me an opportunity. I'm very thankful," said Tebow. "It's such an honor to be a [part of the Patriots] and play for coach Belichick and [offensive coordinator Josh] McDaniels, and learn under [quarterback] Tom [Brady], and be [signed into] this great franchise and very successful franchise. I found out firsthand. Lost to [the Patriots] several times. It's going to be a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to working hard every single day and getting a lot better, and learning under some great people."

"Anything we do is what we feel is in the best interest of the team," Belichick said, claiming that Tim Tebow "is a talented player, smart, works hard, so [the Patriots will] see how it goes."

The now New England Patriot was previously ostracized by many teams due to the media baggage that comes with his appearance, claims Washington Times. "If you can find a club that’s mature enough to handle it as an organization, then you’re going to find the right spot for [Tim Tebow]. What I mean by that is all the media mania and that sort of thing. The club says, ‘Look, this is the reason we’re bringing him on. We feel he can bring X, Y, Z and A, B, C to the table.’ Explain it to [Tebow], explain it to the media, explain it to your fan base and explain it to your organization."

Tim Tebow seems to be only "given a chance to fit in." The New England Patriots have not promised him any money for the contract that he signed, as the future Hall-of-Famer Tom Brady is calling the signals as the quarterback.
