Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport had a reported electrical explosion earlier today at approximately 8:45 A.M. Soon afterwards, the Police investigated about a pair of bomb threats that threatens Georgia's State Capitol building and the areas surrounding it.

The airport explosion did not result in any fires or any injuries. The airport officials did not initially know what was the cause of the explosion. Only more than a hours later, they were able to trace the source of the explosion.

The Atlanta Airport Twitter account detailed, "There was a small electrical explosion at 8:40am near gate D21. Passengers were evacuated but have returned. No injuries reported."

However, the blown transformer resulted in power outages in Concourse D. Many passengers were initially delayed and were not able to board the planes.

The explosion was later described as to have been caused by maintenance overloaded a certain circuit to induce the power failure.

The planes were able to resume normal operations by lunch time at the Atlanta airport.

The bomb threats have been confirmed "all clear" after the law enforcement has checked out the buildings near the Fulton County's state capitol offices.

Employees in the Judicial Building and the Health building were evacuated shortly after 9 a.m. Tuesday. The evacuated employees and other patrons were told not to utilize radios or cell phones to communicate while police searched the building with bomb dogs.

However, "many workers stayed glued to their smart phones, curious about [the explosion] scare at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. Most had never experienced a bomb threat on Capitol Hill, but all had participated in fire drills."
