The recent "Game of Thrones" season 6 episode, titled "Blood of My Blood," was what some viewers call a "bit of a letdown."
If you've been following all the "Game of Thrones" episodes for the past five seasons, then you'd expect some gore, thrill or another character to die. There always is that somebody who dies. Sometimes, it's a direwolf.
This week's "Game of Thrones" season 6 episode focused on the origins of some characters and the internal battle they are currently experiencing. Take for instance, the change of heart of Margeary Tyrell and Arya Stark. Gizmodo calls it a "bit of a letdown."
We see Jamie Lannister charging the stairs of the High Sparrow but there wasn't any fight because Margaery didn't need to do the "Walk of Atonement" as she already atoned for her sins by turning King Tommen into a believer of the faith. Aside from the lack of bloodshed, Sam went home with his lady love and baby. The dramatic origin of this former Night Watch showed his father's distaste for Wildlings and his own son. Arya was tasked to poison the actress' drink but her inner turmoils regarding the death of her family has stirred inside her. Will she be able to overcome this and become what she wants to be? A wearer of the many faces?
All the cast and crew focused all their career efforts into the the emotional dipping pool, except without the blood, gore and death scenes in the "Blood of My Blood" episode.
The only consolation fans saw was when Dany saw a hint of smoke in the far distance. She knew it was her dragon. True enough, they emerged and inspired all the Dothraki followers to join her across the seas and take over the seven kingdoms.
