For a singer to lose his voice, it is perhaps one of the most painful things. It could send one to sue the biggest franchise in the world or to wallow in self pity.

But John Mayer was able to escape from being either of those two things while he was not able to speak for 10 months after his throat surgery. He claims that his secret was Katy Perry.

In a Milwaukee concert this past Saturday, the singer dedicated 'A Face to Call Home' to Katy Perry. Through the heart-wrenching lyrics, he sings, "you'd never know a man could feel so small," in thankfulness and gratefulness to what Perry has done for the singer during those 10 months.

He exclaimed that the "Fireworks" singer was "more incredible than I ever thought. She would order [food] for me... and she would tell people, 'It's nice to meet you, he says.' When I was in Montana... with bad service... she was so patient as to continue to get to know me and love me."

John Mayer's song is not for the weak-of-heart. He proclaimed before singing the tear-jerking song, "[to] Katy, who is my face to call home."

Perry was in audience to listen to one of the most touching songs to hit her ears. Mayer's public expression of love to Perry came after the two was seen in an Instagram photo, wearing July 4th clothing and posing with their heads resting on each others' in a loving embrace.

Katy Perry had previously claimed in a Vogue interview in June, saying, "I was madly in love with him. I still am madly in love with him. All I can say about that relationship is that he's got a beautiful mind."
