Nintendo has finally spoken up about the "Pokémon GO" release date. The highly-anticipated augmented reality game will be available next month.
Business Standard reported that Nintendo made the announcement for the "Pokémon GO" release date during the second day of its E3 live stream. There is still no concrete date, though.
"Pokémon GO" is currently being developed by Niantic, who created "Ingress," with The Pokémon Company. The game will allow players to catch Pokémon in real-life locations.
According to Polygon, the "Pokémon GO" release date will see a free-to-play game that uses AR technology and smartphones in catching these Pocket Monsters. Players will also have the choice on whether to use preset backgrounds for a traditional gaming experience or use their device's camera to use places in real life.
A trainer's experience points are gained by capturing more Pokémon. Trainers will also be rewarded with "candies" that can be used to make Pokémon evolve into their higher form.
Nintendo has also revealed that the game's trading feature will not be available at the time of the "Pokémon GO" release date. They are still developing the feature and it will be launched after the game has been published.
A new update on "Pokémon GO" Plus has also been revealed. The hardware accessory for the game is priced at $34.99. It will not be available right at the "Pokémon GO" release date, though.
We Got This Covered noted that the "Pokémon GO" Plus device is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Moreover, a lot of customers have already placed their orders. The publication advised those who want to have the gadget on launch day to order as soon as possible.
"Pokémon GO" Plus is shaped like a tear with the design of the Pokeball. The device will allow players to catch Pokémon without opening their smartphones every time. It will also provide push notifications to players for any Pocket Monsters near them.
