Aerosmith 2017 Farewell Tour: Steven Tyler Confirms Last Concert Show

"We're doing a farewell tour, but only because it's time. We've never done that," says Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler.
During an interview with Howard Stern, Steven Tyler confirmed that the band, Aerosmith, are planning to launch a farewell tour in 2017. Why the sudden stop next year? "I love this band, I really do, and I want to squash every thought that anybody might have about this ... We're doing a farewell tour, but only because it's time. We've never done that," Tyler said.
This means that the band's farewell plans are official. According to the Rolling Stone, they are planning a farewell tour next year and guitarist Joe Perry is already aware of this. To poke fun in the matter, Steven Tyler poked fun at the other iconic bands who lacked a certain finality. But his confirmation seems confusing. When asked about the details of the tour, the lead singer of the long-time rock band confessed that the kinks have not been ironed out yet. To add more confusion, Tyler joked about the tour's length, saying it would last probably "forever."
This was not the first time that Tyler spoke of having a final leg. Back in May, Tyler said that they were thinking about one last leg. "I'm doing 30 shows from May until August," Tyler said referring to his solo shows. "And then in 2017 we go out with Aerosmith. We're probably doing a farewell tour. Look, there's two bands that still have the original members, us and the Stones. I'm grateful for that. Whether we do a farewell tour or go into the studio and do another record, I'm just excited about it."
Is this really the end of a long-time music career for the Aerosmith band? Will this mean the members are officially going solo afterwards? That remains unclear until now.
