After season 6 has come and gone, there are speculations that a "Game of Thrones" spin-off may be on the way. Fans have come up with several ideas on how the plot should go.

Den of Geek wrote about eight possible directions for the "Game of Thrones" spin-off. It was noted that George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" novel series has a lot of material left for extra stories.

1. Robert's Rebellion

It is believed to be the most obvious choice for a "Game of Thrones" spin-off. It could also shed more light on Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark's relationship.

2. Aegon's Conquest

Set about two hundred years before Robert's Rebellion, this saga would show a change of era from the traditional "Game of Thrones."

3. The Night's King

This "Game of Thrones" spin-off would cover the origin story of the mysterious character. In the books, he was believed to be the 13th Lord Commander of the Night's Watch who fell in love with a woman and gave away his soul when he forsook his vows.

4. The Brotherhood Without Banners

They are a guerilla group of men who have a Robin Hood-esque way of banditry. It would be interesting to see this band protect the smallfolk and bring justice their own way.

5. The Dunk and Egg Stories

The ongoing series by George R.R. Martin, taking place in Westeros about 90 years prior to the events of "GoT," already has a lot of stories ready for telling.

6. The Blackfyre Rebellions

With this "Game of Thrones" spin-off, plenty of new and exciting characters could be introduced. It would also provide a chance to focus once more on the Targaryen dynasty.

7. The Andal Invasion

The spin-off could focus on the first arrival of the Andals or their failed attempt to take over the North. This is to streamline the stories since the invasion happened over hundreds of years.

8. Nymeria and the Exodus to Dorne

The warrior queen is one of the most-loved historical figures in Westeros. The character would definitely make for a fierce and powerful female role model.

According to Forbes, "Game of Thrones" season 6 brought in over 7 million viewers. With the show's popularity, it would be a waste for HBO to not make a spin-off or prequel series.
