Kevin Turner had been in Microsoft's hands for 11 years. He was a major part of former CEO Steve Ballmer's administration. Now, Citadel Securities have made it officially known on Thursday that it has hired Kevin Turner as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Before he became an executive, he worked his way up at Walmart for 20 years starting as a cashier. At only 29 years old, he was named as the youngest corporate officer in Walmart. That was his first job in college. Later on, he became CIO for many of the company's industry-setting technology programs. Further in his career, he became Chief Executive officer of Sam's Club. In his tenure under Microsoft, he at one point was gunning for the role of CEO after Ballmer had announced that he will be retiring.
According to Business Insider, the press release states: "Citadel Names B. Kevin Turner as Chief Executive Officer of Citadel Securities. Turner Also to Serve as Vice Chairman of the Firm."
Citadel is a known global financial firm with a broad array of fixed income and equity securities that believes Turner will be able to manage the organization. "He will be an outstanding leader for Citadel Securities," says CEO and Founder Kenneth Griffin.
Turner is known to have management expertise in technology and operations with a client-first focus. His successful track record enabled him to be Citadel's choice.
His record with Microsoft is untarnished. He was pushed the sales and marketing campaigns of over 50,000 employees in over 190 countries. His energy has driven Microsoft's revenue over the $90 billion mark in 2015 alone.
Microsoft will now say goodbye to a tenured member of its executive ranks as Turner now looks to Citadel to meed the liquidity demands of the market as its CEO.
