A new "Suicide Squad" trailer has been released. The anti-hero film will be in cinemas this Aug. 5.
The new "Suicide Squad" trailer opened with a shot of the group's members Harley Quinn and Deadshot. Viola Davis' character, Amanda Waller, revealed her plan of creating a team of villains "to do some good."
Cool fight scenes were also showcased in the "Suicide Squad" trailer. Plus, fans are given a glimpse of what to expect from Jared Leto's Joker as well as Jay Hernandez's Diablo.
According to EW, "Suicide Squad" will see Joker's efforts to reunite with his true love, Harley Quinn, regardless of the mission that she and her teammates need to make good on. The group is enlisted to fight a "powerful, mystical enemy."
Margot Robbie shared her thoughts on Harley Quinn, saying that her "Suicide Squad" character "loves causing mayhem and destruction." "She's incredibly devoted to the Joker," the actress said. "They have a dysfunctional relationship, but she loves him anyway. She used to be a gymnast-that's her skill set when fighting."
iDigitalTimes reported that there must be more to Joker's desire to reunite with Harley Quinn. "Since when does a psychopath love anyone more than himself?" the publication wrote.
Apparently, the Joker seems to have a personal agenda which may be revealed when the "Suicide Squad" release date arrives. His insane plan would definitely place the lives of the team in danger.
It would also be interesting to see whether Harley Quinn would accept the Joker again with open arms when they meet or if she's done with their dysfunctional relationship.
Meanwhile, Cinema Blend noted that Scott Eastwood's "Suicide Squad" character may not be from the comics. Apparently, he is taking on the role of a Lieutenant "GQ" Edwards, who is believed to be "just a soldier and not a pre-existing entity in the comics."
It was also noted that the letters "GQ" can be seen on Eastwood's military uniform. This lends credence to the report on the actor's "Suicide Squad" character.
