There are speculations that the "Dragon Ball Super" anime will be stopped after the Future Trunks arc. This comes after criticisms over the show's animation still run rampant.
There have been several complaints on the animation quality of "Dragon Ball Super" anime. Yibada reported that the poor animation could prove to be the demise of the series.
Viz Media has published some chapters of the "Dragon Ball Super" manga online. This led to speculations that the anime would be terminated or put on hiatus due to its disturbing animation quality.
Akira Toriyama previously shared his thoughts on the show. According to Attack of the Fanboy, the series creator is disappointed over the quality of "Dragon Ball Super."
"'Dragon Ball' once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live-action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime," he said. "It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much I can't leave it alone."
Speaking to Anime News Network, anime producer Norihiro Hayashida admitted that part of the reason for the low quality animation for "Dragon Ball Super" is the Japanese industry itself. "There are a lot of newbies coming up through the industry right now, and production time is limited," he said.
"That's the reason why anime quality has deteriorated slightly... In Japan, the time for post-production has been reduced more and more to an unsustainable level. The director barely has time to check the final product. There is no time for review after all the work of the animation process, and as a result, the quality suffers."
Yibada noted that a break could be underway for the improvement of the series' visual presentation. "Dragon Ball Super" has just begun its Future Trunks arc and has been getting good feedback for it.
