Pokemon craze "Pokemon Uranium" has been officially taken off by Nintendo. After the successful launch in August, the new fan-made game has been put on end.
Just recently, Pokemon games took a rapid success around the globe most, especially "Pokemon Go and "Pokemon Uranium," though the latter is just a fan-made game and not developed by Nintendo or Niantic Labs team.
On statistics, "Pokemon Uranium" gained one and a half million downloads since its launching on Aug. 13. The online game does online trading and battle with 150 new fan-made pocket monsters, with a new fan-made region where the gameplay is; however, after more than a million of downloads, the developers deactivated the game to pay respect on Nintendo as the real creators of Pokemon games.
Rumors spread on the early weeks that the game will be axed, but its developers assured fans that the game is still available; however, they eventually announced last week via Twitter that "Pokemon Uranium" will officially be put to an end.
"While we have not personally been contacted, it's clear what their wishes are, and we respect those wishes deeply," the developers said in a statement on the game's website, which has since been taken down as well. "We have no connection to fans who reupload the game files to their own hosts, and we cannot verify that those download links are all legitimate. We advise you to be extremely cautious about downloading the game from unofficial sources."
Nintendo, however, admitted that "Pokemon Uranium" was a hit. It is said that the game was one of the reasons why "Pokemon Go" lost 15 million users.
At the end of its success, "Pokemon Uranium" may just be a fan-made game, but it still received a lot of good reviews in the gaming community.
