FX has ordered another season of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk's hit TV anthology "American Horror Story." With that said, "American Horror Story" Season 7 is secured, but Murphy may still have one more trick up in his sleeve.
"American Horror Story" Season 7, which is expected to air in 2017, was confirmed by FX president John Landgraf. "Ryan, Brad and their team of remarkable writers have done an amazing job of keeping 'American Horror Story' endlessly inventive, shocking and entertaining and we are honored to move ahead with them on the seventh installment," CNN quoted him as saying.
The news arrived just weeks after "American Horror Story" Season 6 premiered on FX. Murphy already has an idea of how the seventh season will look like.
The renewal of "American Horror Story" for a seventh season is not the only piece of good news fans are getting this week, as Murphy also revealed that he's working on a "secret season" that may come out after "American Horror Story" Season 7
"I've been working with a writer on a season that only he and I know," Murphy teased , as per EW. "It's like a two-year project that we'll continue to work on the sly and not tell anybody."
Murphy added that the "secret season" is "an experiment" and he's not sure when it will be released on television. The presumed eighth season will be written by one person and has a completely different process to it.
"We might get them done and shoot them on the sly and drop it," Murphy explained.
In the meantime, "American Horror Story" Season 6 charged to FX with 13.01 million viewers across multiple platforms. The premiere episode is the third-most watched telecast in FX Network's history in the 18-34 demographic.
"American Horror Story: Roanoke" follows a married couple, played by Sarah Paulson and Cuba Gooding Jr., as they move from Los Angeles to North Carolina after an attacked caused by a gang left Matt (Gooding) temporarily paralyzed and caused Shelby (Paulson) left to suffer a miscarriage. However, their new neighborhood isn't as peaceful as it may seem as they realize their property is the center of a rituals and hauntings caused by an old Roanoke colony.
Details of the show were kept largely in secret prior to its release, spiking fans' anticipation and curiosity.
