Now that the Note 7 has bowed out of the competition in a blaze of glory. The title of the best phablet, which it has held on for so many years have shifted to two other phablet competitors; the LG V20 and Google's latest entry into the smartphone arena, the Google Pixel XL.

What is under the hood?

Let us begin with the device's performance. The Pixel XL boasts Qualcomm's quad-core SnapDragon 821 chip, an Adreno 530 GPU with 4 gigabytes of RAM. The LGV20, on the other hand, comes with a quad-core SnapDragon 820 chip with the same Adreno 530 GPU and 4GB of RAM. The edge goes to the Google Pixel Xl, but only with a very slim margin.

The Display

The V20 has a 5.7-inch LCD display that has a 1440 X 2560 resolution with a 513 PPI. The Google pixel offers the exact same resolution with a slightly higher PPI and a smaller 5.5 inch AMOLED screen. To be honest, the difference between the two displays are almost nonexistent and both screens render the colors quite well. The only advantage that the V20 as is a small horizontal display on top that is solely for notifications and shortcuts.

Camera and other features

The Pixel XL boasts of a 12-megapixel camera with phase and laser detection autofocus. It also has an 8-megapixel front camera that trumps the V20's 5 megapixels. On the other hand, the V20 does have a 16-megapixel camera and another camera that can take 8mp wide angle shots. Both cameras have dual LED flash.

Both phones feature a fingerprint scanner and the latest version of Android. The Pixel XL will come with a 32GB and 128GB variant while the V20 comes with 32GB and 64GB. The LG v20 wins this one as it has an option to expand its memory with a card slot. Battery life is almost the same with the Pixel XL having a slight edge.
