The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 has gotten some exciting rumors today; the tablet is said to feature Intel's latest line of Kaby Lake CPU's which will make the tablet super fast.
To put it in perspective, the powerful CPU gives a 15 to 20 percent boost from the older Skylake CPU. During some tests, the Intel Kaby Lake streamed a 4k video at 60 frames per second using just 3.2 watts of power. If we compare this to the last gen i7, where the same video started stuttering while consuming five times the power.
This is a big boon when it comes to streaming videos and gaming graphics.
What is amazing about this technology is that there were no physical changes in this CPU in terms of design and clock speed. The extra power generated was a result of optimization which better utilized the Turbo Boost and Overboost functions.
The new CPU will make the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 one of the fastest tablets on paper. And they would probably need the extra muscle with mounting competition from other companies who are trying to enter the high-end tablet space.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is rumored to have a myriad of strong features that will make it on par with some laptops in the market today. The display is rumored to come in two variants, one version is a 4k screen while the other is a much cheaper 2k resolution. It will be running smooth as the Surface Pro will feature a whopping 16Gb of RAM.
The keyboard will also feature some improvements in terms of ergonomics. The stylus which Microsoft dubbed as the "Surface Pen" will get a major overhaul by sporting a rechargeable battery and it is going to be magnetically connected to the device.
The Microsoft Surface Pro is slated to release in the first half of 2017.
