1. Michael Jordan is a name that you cannot take away from basketball. He has been considered by many as the greatest player all throughout basketball history. He's currently the owner of NBA franchise Charlotte Hornets and has his own shoe brand under the name of Jordan. His very own shoe line is predicted to generate around $1.1 billion this year.
2. His brand currently released the latest sneakers this 2016 which is the Air Jordan 31 Banned, according to Sneakernews. The name was inspired by a controversy back when Jordan was still playing in the NBA.
3. Jordan began his basketball career way back in high school and his talents would attract scholarships from different colleges. He would, later on, commit himself to the Tar Heels, University of North Carolina's basketball program, where he led them to the National Championships in 1982. He won the Wooden College Player of the year and the Naismith Award during the times he spent in North Carolina, according to Gazette Review.
4. He began his professional career when he was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in 1984. He entertained people with his prolific scoring and high-flying dunks. He joined and won the NBA slamdunk competition two times where he did his signature move of jumping from the free throw line. The move gave him the nicknames "His Airness","Jumpman" and "Air Jordan".
5. During the times he spent with the Bulls, Jordan won a total of 6 championships in 1991,1992,1993, 1996, 1997,1998. In the 1995-1996 season, his team held the best record for many years in the NBA with a win-loss record of 72-10 but was broken by the Golden State Warriors in the 2015-2016 season with their own 73-9 record.
6. He has a lot of achievements aside from being a 6-time champion. He's also a 1985 Rookie of the Year, 14-time NBA Allstar, 6 time NBA Finals MVP, 9-time NBA All-Defensive Team and 5 time NBA Most Valuable Player.
Jordan was also inducted into the hall of fame class of 2009 along with other famous names like John Stockton, Jerry Sloan and David Robinson, according to NBA.
