About three weeks away from the official release of Pokémon Sun and Moon, the latest version of the Pokémon video game series, the Pokémon website still successfully released a trailer packing one of the most surprising features of the game's plot yet: Red and Blue.
Red and Blue, the original characters of the first Pokémon game, are appearing in the Pokémon Sun and Moon game, but now as adults. The original Pokémon game released 20 years ago, and the reveal turned fans nostalgically excited.
The Pokémon Sun and Moon will have a new feature in the form of the Battle Tree. As shown in the latest trailer, players can enter the battle tree and battle against the best trainers. Players also get the opportunity to battle alongside these trainers, and it appears that characters in the Battle Tree will come from characters from the past generations of Pokémon.
The trailer shows the player battling alongside Cynthia, the Pokémon Champion from Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, with the appearance of Wally from Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. Red, the protagonist, and Blue, the rival more commonly known as Gary Oak from the Pokémon television series, is also available to battle.
The complete list of characters that will make their appearance in the Battle Tree is yet to be confirmed beyond what was shown in the trailer.
Fans who were eager to start thinking about their starter Pokémon for their Pokémon Sun and Moon run also rejoiced with the official reveal of the final evolution of the starter Pokémon, making the complete line of Pokémon starters officially revealed, except for stats.
The reveals in the latest trailer goes one notch higher from the subtle cameos and references to older games that pops up in every new Pokémon generation, and fans only have a few weeks left as the Pokémon Sun and Moon makes its official release on November 18.
