As the 2016-2017 NBA season opens, the Miami Heat team finds itself in a very peculiar circumstance - they will enter the season without the famous Big Three under their roster. Principal center and power forward player Chris Bosh is still unlikely to return to Miami Heat and NBA despite his ongoing contract.
Chris Bosh has been diagnosed with pulmonary embolism and blood clot as early as 2015. Despite undergoing steady recovery, complications resurfaced in line with his unusual calf injury. Tests in September 2016 yielded insufficient data to clear him off of the disease.
Notwithstanding his current health issues, Chris Bosh remains to be the only one of the Big Three players still officially signed under Miami Heat. According to Parent Herald, the National Basketball Players Association is thoroughly monitoring the situation between Bosh and Miami Heat.
In a comparable report stated by Business Insider, there was more to simple concern over Bosh's health that prompted them to waive his contract. Simply put it, they are on a losing end of the financial deal if they let Bosh go before his deal is concluded in 2018.
In 2014, former small forward Heat player LeBron James rejoined Cleveland Cavaliers. Heat shooting guard Dwayne Wade signed up with Chicago Bulls in 2016. Unfortunately, the medical condition Chris Bosh is currently undergoing has enabled Miami Heat president Pat Riley to take him off the court for good.
The fate of the Big Three is sealed. Only time will tell how Miami Heat will perform in the 2016-2017 NBA Season without their prized players.
In a 6-part mini documentary series called Uninterrupted, Chris Bosh featured the emotional toll of his health complication in line with his uncertain future with NBA. The show is titled "Rebuilt", with each series running a maximum streaming time of 6 minutes.
