Huawei has just announced the availability of their new smartwatch the Huawei Fit for $129.99. With a lot of options for smartwatches in the market, the Fit has some good and unique features; it just feels cheaper than its price.
According to The Verge, Huawei's new smartwatch is a fitness tracker that has a round face, it's always on and has a monochrome touchscreen. Its appearance is similar to that of the Pebble Time Round from last year.
The Fit has a tracking feature that can automatically sense when you're walking, running, or sleeping. It can also measure a user's step count, the distance traveled, the calories the user burned and the duration of sleep.
Huawei said that the Fit has an accurate heart rate monitor thanks to its "high signal strength." The smartwatch also has a running training guidance for the wearer for 5K, 10K, half marathons, and full marathons.
The Huawei Fit also alerts for incoming calls and messages and can last for six days between charges for normal use and up to 30 days when on standby. Charging the smartwatch takes less than two hours.
The Huawei Fit is available at Best Buy, Amazon, and Newegg for $130. It comes in three different band colors, orange, blue, and black.
According to Engadget, the Fit has some great features, but it feels cheaper than the price it's asking for. There are better options available for $130.
The Fit does boast a simple and clean aesthetics with a round face and its thin, silver-colored aluminum case, with a thickness of only 11.2mm. This is thinner than most smartwatches, making it comfortable to wear, to the point you forget you are wearing one.
The watch also doesn't have any knobs, dials and only a reset button on the underside. This makes the Huawei Fit's design uncluttered.
Overall, Huawei's smartwatch is a good sturdy watch, but it still feels cheap. This is probably because of the silicone band the watch is using.
The Huawei Fit, which was made available on November 3, also doesn't offer something that is not yet being offered in the market. And for $130, it seems a bit pricey.
