Manny Pacquiao To Fight Jessie Vargas Against Steep Odds

Filipino boxing superstar, Emmanuel "Manny" Pacquiao, is fighting the Mexican-American champion Jessie Vargas on November 5, 2016. The fight billed as "The Legend/The Champ", will take place at Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada (USA).
Despite the demands of his full-time career as a Filipino senator, Manny Pacquiao is determined to challenge Vargas for the ownership of the welterweight belt. In the recent chronicle by Macau Daily Times, he is facing a very steep 1 out of 9 chance of defeating the 27-year-old welterweight champion.
Top Rank CEO Bob Arum expressed his belief in the midst of natural reservations regarding Pacquiao's 'versatile commitment'. The Filipino senator has successfully attended all government hearings while undergoing his boxing training. Considering his age and hectic schedule, the Pacquiao camp admits certain difficulties enforcing the effective training plan.
For Jessie Vargas, the upcoming fight is an 'incredible' opportunity for him to shine. Arum just stated in Boxing News 24 that the 27-year old title defender will emerge as a superstar if he beats Manny Pacquiao. Curiously, Vargas enjoys the underdog status given the stellar reputation of his legendary opponent.
Pacquiao shortly announced his 'temporary' retirement in boxing after beating Timothy Bradley on April 9, 2016. During this period, his popularity was also momentarily jeopardized due to his controversial homophobic outbursts. In that time, Nike withdrew their advertising deal with him.
The Filipino senator's comeback in the boxing scene also provided an opportunity for other boxing stars to rise to great heights. In this upcoming fight, Filipino-American boxing celebrity Nonito Donaire Jr. is pitted against Mexican-American super bantamweight champion Jessie Magdaleno in an undercard bout.
Manny Pacquiao holds championship titles in eight world divisions - the first and only boxer to do so in recorded history. His name carries enough weight to turn boxing champions into legends.
