There's more for this year's surprises especially to Johnny Depp's fans as the actor officially confirmed, he is joining J.K. Rowling Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them this coming November 18.
Depp will have a brief appearance in the upcoming movie and will reappear in the second sequel of the Beast series franchise, Warner Bros. spokesman Paul McGuire confirms to USA TODAY.
Actor Eddie Redmayne is playing Newt Scamander in the upcoming series will make way to the Magical Congress of the United States of America in the 1920s when his magical beasts escape from his expanding briefcase.
Unlike on his other movies, Depp will play as a cameo, where he will be one of the Fantastic Beasts, but fans would have a hard time identifying him on his quick role as he will be somehow wrapped.
David Yates is directing the upcoming movie and will return to the director's chair for the follow-up on Nov. 16, 2018, in which Depp will also have a comeback.
Last month, Rowling announced at a fan event that Warner Bros. will do five Beasts sequels.
Warner Bros. have successfully kept Depp's appearance in the upcoming sequel until confirmed on Tuesday. Word leaked out after journalists started seeing early screenings of the film.
Depp has been a good actor to play in a world of witchcraft and wizardry and has been known for such fantastical cinematic roles as Edward Scissorhands and Captain Jack Sparrow.
Depp was most recently seen as the Mad Hatter in Alice Through the Looking Glass and will soon be seen in the fifth installment of Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Dead Men Tell No Tales. It also was recently announced he would be joining the Kenneth Branagh-directed Murder on the Orient Express.
Depp was still with UTA when the actor accepted the beast role and is now being handled by CAA and Bloom Hergott.
