NBA Trade Rumors: Blake Griffin To Celtics, Chris Paul To Cavaliers? Clippers Might See Their Stars Leave If They Don't Get A Championship

For the past seasons, the Los Angeles Clippers have failed to make it to the NBA finals despite their young and talented roster. Now, with Chris Paul and Blake Griffin still ringless , the Clippers are now a part of NBA trade rumors that would send Paul to the Cavaliers and Griffin to the Celtics.
Paul and Griffin are included in the list of free agents of 2017 according to Hoopshype, and both can exercise player options which means they could either choose to stay or leave. Griffin(27) is nearing his prime and might want to take his talents elsewhere while Paul(31) is not getting any younger.
In a report by the Morning Ledger, NBA trade rumors have spread that the Cavaliers wanted to acquire Paul. With the Golden State Warriors acquiring Kevin Durant, the Cavs might need more veteran leadership and talent to defend their title. It is safe to say that the Cavs might still pursue Paul when he becomes a free agent since Mo Williams just announced his retirement and there is no certainty that rookie Kay Felder can live up to his potential.
The Cavaliers would need a true point guard since Kyrie Irving is more effective being an off-the-ball shooter/slasher for the team. Some critics would say having Paul would be a liability but it is still an argument to debate with unless Paul joins the team.
On the other hand, according to The Ringer, the Celtics showed interest in acquiring Griffin this offseason. Now that he is nearing free agency, it is foreseeable that the Celtics might make some phone calls again to the Clippers front office.
NBA trade rumors can cause a big buzz in the world of basketball, and with these two all-stars included in the 2017 free agency, fans might see some blockbuster trades happening.
