One of the favorites on Dancing with the Stars, Maks Chmerkovskiy may be back for Season 17, sources said.

The popular dancer has been on the show for almost 10 seasons but was not seen during its latest run.

It can be remembered that Maks did mention in interviews that he would leave the show to go in search for greener pastures and although everyone supported his decision, they are all wondering whether or not he will officially be back.

According to Paul Lee, Entertainment President of ABC, Maks is definitely one of the most honest dancers ever honed on the Dancing with the Stars stage so it is most likely that he will come back for Season 17.

His disappearance from the show caused a huge stir among fans and onlookers and everyone wondered how come he wasn't there to witness the win of Kellie Pickler.

According to sources, Maks is currently performing on Broadway for the show Forever Tango with former fiancée Karina Smirnoff. The show is said to end on August 11.

It can be remembered that Maks had a couple of disagreements with the show's judges but Lee confirmed that all of those rifts are behind everyone.

Lee did not confirm nor deny whether or not these disagreements were also the reason why Maks chose to not be in the show's 16th season other than his busy schedule for Forever Tango.

He said though that Maks is well-loved by everyone on the show, not only his fans but also his mentors and everyone would be happy to have him around again.

The new season of Dancing with the Stars will commence on September 16 at 8:00pm. The show will air on Mondays and results will no longer be aired on Tuesdays.
